―Oliver, after being revealed as a blank

Oliver "O-Man" Chamberlain is one of the main characters featured in The World's End. He is portrayed by Martin Freeman.

Background[]

Not much is known of Oliver's background. He was childhood friends with Gary King and Andy Knight, as well as Steven and Peter. He also had a sister, Sam. Together, they attended school in Newton Haven. Oliver apparently fancied himself a businessman even while in high school. His friends nicknamed him O-Man because of a birthmark on his forehead which was shaped like a 6, much to his annoyance. He joined his friends in attempting to complete The Golden Mile, but only made it to 6th pub (The Trusty Servant) before vomiting and being put out of commission.

After high school, he became an estate agent.

The Pub Crawl[]

When Gary invites him to join the pub crawl he is clearly uninterested and doesn’t want to go. But he ends up going anyway as he is tricked into believing Andy will be there.

Later when they are having coffee, it is revealed that Gary borrowed £200 to pay Andy. Oliver was clearly hurt by this.

Halfway through the crawl Oliver goes to the toilet and is turned into a blank off-screen. When he comes out he seems completely normal. Later when He and the group are at the beehive Oliver tilts his head far enough for Andy to see his birthmark is back and smash half of his head with a stool.

After all the technology was purged from the Earth, Oliver's copy went back to being an estate agent in the original's place, using a football with drawn-on eyes to replace the top half of his head.

Personality[]

As a human, Oliver was very concerned about his appearance, and he always appeared professional. He also avoided cursing as much as possible as he would say WTF in place of "what the fuck." This is different after he becomes a blank, and while he was more reserved and risk-averse as a human, as a blank he was a lot more easygoing as seen when he says "we should do chasers" to which Gary responds "who is this guy?"

Physical Appearance[]

Oliver cares a lot about his appearance and even in high school, he tended to dress more like a businessman. In modern-day he is always seen wearing a suit. He has a combover hairstyle with gel to keep it in place, and he used to have a birthmark that looked like a six on the side of his face, but he got it removed with laser surgery. However, after becoming a blank, his birthmark was back and while his hair got tussled in the bathroom fight with the blanks, his hair was back to looking perfect after being replaced.

After the Network leaves Earth, Oliver uses a football with drawn-on eyes to replace the top half of his head.
